NATURES CHOICE FARMS, LLC

At Nature’s Choice Farms we are a small farm, in Southern Virginia supported with real hard working folks. We take pride in  growing  premium food and nursery products. After it meets our standards of excellence we offer our products to others in the community that like us appreciate quality food and plants .

Everything at Nature’s Choice Farms is grown in harmony with nature. We  don’t use growth hormones or antibiotics in our feed for the chickens. Moreover all of our vegetables are grown  chemical free.

Nature’s Choice Farms roots started long before we went into business. Being avid gardeners our research on growing nutritious food began in 1993 with a dedication to raising a premium food source to feed  our five children.

Family is important to us. The third generation is growing and today, we

strive to make sure our research as current as possible to provide the best nature will offer to feed our grandchildren.

The greatest thing about conducting this  research.. were all the wonderful people we were able to meet over time.

We found there are a lot of people in the country who are upset with the corporate raised food supply produced with the industrial farm model in our country producing food lacking in nutrition with the blessing or the USDA. Some compare this to the government to approving lead based paint only to find out it was bad for our health.

NATURE’S CHOICE NURSERY

Our nursery products were developed due to the high cost of landscaping

investment properties. Being in the real estate business we were in need of landscaping products on a regular basis.

We had problems in the past with the plants we purchased dying on a regular basis. The initial costs of the plants were high enough but when you add to these costs … plants dying the cost became unbearable.

Our vegetable garden nursery products includes different varieties of tomato’s, pepper’s, okra, squash, egg plant, herbs and other vegetable plants during the spring growing season.

In addition to our vegetable plants we also offer lots of different flowers, shrubs and trees to add value to your home and look beautiful.

Our nursery products are also available wholesale to nursery’s and rooted growers locally and across the country.

PASTURED POULTRY

We grow premium chickens for both meat and egg production. Our birds are never fed any antibiotics or growth hormones of any kind. It makes no

difference if they are laying hens or broilers.. they are all fed a premium custom mix of feed along with fresh grass and bugs daily.

We began raising pastured poultry several years ago for our own use.  Pastured poultry broilers after three weeks are raised in weather resistant portable pens. They are  moved daily to a new buffet of grass and bugs. They are fed twice a day a custom ration of hormone and antibiotic free feed.

Customers place their orders for pasture chickens for us to grow for them. On a specified date we process their chickens for them. They pick them up from the farm or we deliver to a drop off  point.

You know something is good when customers tell you they are nervous  because they are putting the last chicken on the grill with three days to go before the next order.

Everything at Nature’s Choice Farms was born out of necessity … we were trying to fix a problem to make things better… for our family. Now that we have worked out the bugs..  we are offering our products to a select few who have an appreciation for quality food and nursery products.

All of us at Nature’s Choice Farms are dedicated to producing the best nature has to offer while working in conjunction with nature.

The downside to our business model is we cannot mass produce a food source large enough to feed a community.

Another downside to producing quality products means that production costs are higher. Its simple… if you go to a high end restaurant they provide the best food across the board possible and for this service you have to pay extra.

At Nature’s Choice Farms we understand that not everyone can afford the price of our products. With this in mind and realizing  nutrition in our food source is essential for the healthy development of the youth we created a solution. Unlike the example of  high end restaurants if you can’t afford their prices you don’t eat. If you are willing to provide the labor, land and infrastructure you can have the nutritious food to feed your family.

Keep reading the articles on this blog… replicate what we do… do the work… buy the supplies you need …and you can have the same nutritious food for your family. If you can find the supplies you can purchase them right from the farm.

Our goal is to assist others in learning about growing  quality food. Therefore out of necessity again,  we are in the process of  opening  our Hobby Greenhouse supply division. We provide greenhouse kits, seedling trays, transplant trays, greenhouse film and all types of greenhouse supplies.

In addition to providing supplies, we are developing new informational video’s to show you step by step what you need to do and how to do just about everything we do right here on the farm.
